WTCC – Eric Nève leaves Chevrolet after Sonoma

Last July, Chevrolet announced it would leave the World Touring Car Championship at the end of the season after dominating the category for the past three seasons. The team will not finish the season with its director Eric Nève, who decided to jump ship after the Sonoma races, which will take place this weekend. “ As competition manager for a brand that is stopping sport, I also find myself without a job, explains Nève in the columns of Revue Automobile. GM certainly offered me other functions, but I chose to stay in the field of automobile racing. I will therefore officially leave the organization on September 30. I will be leading the team for the very last time in Sonoma and I hope to leave having secured Chevrolet's third title. »

A page is therefore turning for Eric Nève, who did not wish to reveal the name of his future destination. “ It's a very beautiful story that ends, He added. I have had the privilege of experiencing a magnificent adventure with, for the moment, two titles and a third which should not escape us. In 2010, we became the first GM group brand to obtain an official world championship title. It is my new employer who must communicate. So I can't say more for the moment, except that I will no longer be in the WTCC next year. »
