Honda and JAS Motorsport have just finished the 2014 season by performing a four-day test session at the Jerez circuit (Spain). The Japanese manufacturer tested different elements in order toimprove Civic WTCC performance who were behind this season against the Citroën C-Elysée. “We did many tours during these four days, testing several technical solutions. Some have worked better than others but we know exactly which way to go. The fact of having had variable weather made these tests even more productive », commented Tiago Monteiro.
The Portuguese is aware that the gap to be filled against the experienced cars is significant. He and his team will recover during the winter break before resuming testing next month in Valencia (Spain). “We will continue to develop the car before the start of the new season (March 6-8 at Termas de Rio Hondo, Argentina). We are taking a break but we will return to the track at the start of the new year to continue testing and prepare the Honda Civic because the next season promises to be very demanding. »
