WTCC – Honda “satisfied with progress made”

Uncompromising last year, José Maria Lopez of Citroën Racing will be the big favorites for their own succession to the WTCC prize list. But Honda, which ended the 2014 financial year with two victories to its credit, intends to give the company a hard time. Intensive development was carried out during the winter on the Civic WTCC.

“We have worked a lot on the car since last year to increase the power of our engine, highlighted Daisuke Horiuchi, Large Project Leader of the Civic WTCC development program at Honda's R&D center. We changed the compression ratio and developed a new exhaust system. But the management of the engine being very important and these modifications not being without consequences on it, we had to develop an adequate map. We are still evolving it on certain points while we are in testing and still have work to do, but I am quite satisfied with the progress made so far. »

It remains to wait for the verdict of the clock. For this, we will have to wait another ten days, the opening round of the WTCC being scheduled for the weekend of March 7-8, in Argentina, at the Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo.
