WTCC: Huff and Tarquini win at Zolder

If Chevrolet seemed untouchable during the first race, with a hat-trick, the second race turned more in favor of Seat. On the podium twice, Alain Menu returned to second place in the championship, a small point behind Rob Huff.

Author of pole position, Rob Huff manages to win victory in race 1. “I made a good start and managed to stay in the lead, underlines the Briton. So I was disappointed when the safety car came on track. But once again I had a good recovery and I pushed hard for a few laps. Then I saw that Yvan Muller had passed Gabriele Tarquini and was chasing Alain Menu. This gave me the opportunity to break away and slow down in the final laps when I started to feel some vibrations on the front tires. I am very happy with this new victory. »

At the end of the second race, Gabriele Tarquini managed to put an end to Chevrolet's domination. “It was a very good result, very unexpected. Zolder is a very technical circuit, perhaps it is the only one that best suits our car, and that helped me today. It's difficult to overtake here and when I managed to stay in the lead after the first lap, I told myself I had a chance of victory. I knew Rob Huff would be reluctant to take big risks to avoid jeopardizing his championship hopes. I really wanted this victory. »
