WTCC – Sébastien Loeb’s good start in Argentina

Sébastien Loeb showed off at the wheel of the C-Elysée at the Autodromo Termas de Rio Hondo in Argentina. After getting on the last step of the podium in Race 1 where he retained his position, the nine-time world champion WRC made a superb start from eighth place on the grid to achieve his third success in the discipline.

The star of Citroën Racing was particularly proud of this victory. “The doors opened in the first corner. At the end of the first lap, I saw that there weren?t many people in front of me! I was attacking and was able to pass when Qing Hua made a mistake. After the safety car, Pechito (José-Maria Lopez) was not far behind. I had to push again to prevent him from getting into my suction”, explained the winner of Race 2.

Sébastien Loeb occupies second place in the Championship five points behind José-Maria Lopez, while Yvan Muller is 21 points behind his compatriot after missing the top ten in Race 2 following an exit from the track. Citroën's result is nevertheless very similar to that collected during the first meeting of the 2014 season in Marrakech (Morocco) since the chevron manufacturer had also signed a Lopez-Muller-Loeb hat-trick in Race 1 and a Loeb-Lopez double in Race 2.
