WTCC – Rob Huff's grueling weekend at Monza

He pulled out all the stops. For the first two races of the year under his new colors, Rob Huff hosted the debates. The reigning world champion, passed on a Seat Leon WTCC of the Munnich Motorsport team this winter after the withdrawal of Chevrolet as official manufacturer, did not have an easy weekend at Monza. After an improbable collision with Fredy Barth's BMW during qualifying on Saturday forcing him to retire, the Briton had to start from the back of the starting grid during the first race, then stands for the second. In dire conditions and on a wet track, Yvan Muller?s former teammate managed to get into the points each time. Not without difficulty, he explains.

“I think we made the most of what was a testing weekend”, details the person concerned. “Qualifying wasn't ideal, then we struggled with vibration in the brakes, followed by a suspension problem on the fourth lap of the first race”, lists the Englishman. “However, I think we got good results with an injured car, the team did a fantastic job throughout the weekend and my teammate Marc Basseng did a remarkable job finishing fourth in the second race. »

“I think we learned a lot and I can't wait to get back in the car in Marrakech and impress a little more with the team”, concludes Rob Huff. See you on April 6 and 7 for the Moroccan event.
