WTCC – Ma Qing Hua better prepared for Shanghai

With 182 points behind Championship leader José-Maria Lopez, Ma Qing Hua knows he has no chance of challenging for the title. If the Chinese has difficulty putting himself forward within Citroën Racing against his teammates who are all world champions (even if Sébastien's nine titles Loeb were taken down in WRC), he still managed to win as proven by his last success in Race 2 in Vila Real (Portugal) last July.

Ma Qing Hua dreams of shining on her national round in Shanghai contested from September 25 to 27 where he had performed well in 2014, finishing in the top five and taking second place. “ I arrived in the middle of the season with a completely new car, in a new team. Everything was new and I was having some difficulties”, admits the 27-year-old Asian. “I was well prepared this season, I arrived more relaxed and I was able to concentrate more on my strategy. All the riders were ten steps higher than me and I tried to make up everything in a short time and it was difficult. But I now feel comfortable behind the wheel and that helps. »

Despite his experience acquired over the past year, Ma Qing Hua is aware that there is still a long way to go to become a keen competitor on the top step of the podium. “Everything is possible but it will be hard to win again. This Championship is getting harder and harder and the gaps continue to narrow. It's especially hard to beat the other drivers on my team. I have less riding than them and I have to work harder than everyone else to get the victory. But I will do my best to achieve it,” promised the Chinese.
