WTCC – Nicolas Lapierre starts at Lada

Nicolas lapierre will take his first steps in WTCC competition by replacing Jaap van Lagen in the last four events of the Championship, the next being contested from September 11 to 13 at Motegi in Japan. The winner of the LMP2 category of 24 Hours of Le Mans with KCMG will become the 6th driver to defend the colors of the Russian manufacturer this season.

“It’s a very interesting challenge for me”, confirmed Nicolas Lapierre, who tested the Vesta WTCC at the Paul-Ricard meeting (Var) taking advantage of the partnership between Oreca and Lada. “I have driven many single-seaters and racing cars, but I have never been behind the wheel of a touring car. Turbo and front-wheel drive cars are new to me and I had a lot to learn during my first steps with the Vesta, but Lada Sport helped me a lot. »

Nicolas Lapierre will evolve alongside Rob Huff and Nicky Catsburg at Lada.
