WTCC – First podium for Tiago Monteiro and Honda

Tiago Monteiro is finishing the year well. A month after joining the WTCC championship, at the Suzuka event, the Portuguese driver took his Honda Civic to the podium for the first time in Macau during the first round. A very good performance, helped by the abandonment of Rob Huff.

But the Portuguese made just as good an impression during the second event. By finishing fourth behind the untouchable official Chevrolet Cruzes, the Honda driver was able to maintain a very respectable gap with his competitors. “We started this project only a few months ago and since then we have worked very hard,” says the Lusitanian.  “I think it was a very good decision on Honda's part to join the last three races of the year in anticipation of the 2013 season. The evolution happened frankly and quickly, race after race. Being on the podium here was a big surprise. The car was great and it was fantastic to be able to keep up with the factory Chevrolets. » Which is promising for next season.
