WTCC – Sébastien Loeb: “I play the shots to the fullest”

Sixth and fourth in the two races contested last weekend on the Japanese circuit of Motegi, scene of the ninth round of the 2015 WTCC, Sébastien Loeb did not experience the desired recovery on the world stage.

Beaten by Norbert Michelisz (Honda) and his teammate at Citroën José-Maria López in the exercise of qualifications, the former king of the planet WRC admits not having made the best choice in the first round. ?I take a line that doesn?t turn out to be the best. I try to insist but I'm locked in, then outside and, obviously, in the peloton it's paid in cash. From then on I knew that my race was compromised. » explains Loeb on his website.

The Alsatian, however, remembers his good performance in race 2, where he finished fourth after starting eighth under the reverse grid rule. “The real good point of this race is the fight with Tarquini and Huff, two of the toughest drivers in the championship. »

Fighting for second place with his compatriot Yvan Muller, Loeb now has only one objective, in addition to allowing Citroën to validate its second consecutive title. “I want to achieve as many good results as possible during the last three meetings, and if possible victories! I play the shots to the fullest. »
