WTCC – Sixteen entries on the 2017 provisional list

Following the end of the official commitment of Citroën Racing and Lada, the WTCC starting grid will be significantly overhauled in 2017. Exit the three-time reigning world champion Jose Maria Lopez and his former teammate within the chevron brand Yvan muller (who will remain involved with Polestar Cyan Racing as an advisor and development driver), and room for newcomers who will make their debut in the discipline.

The French contingent will lose in addition to Yvan Muller, the Ile-de-France Hugo Valente, left for the TCR Series, but will always be able to count on John Filippi, now aligned under the banner of Sébastien Loeb Racing. The Corsican will be joined by debutants Aurélien Panis (Zengo Motorsport – Honda Civic) and Yann Ehrlacher (RC Motorsport – Lada Vesta).

No surprises within the Honda and Volvo teams who had already confirmed their drivers. The only unknown remains on the side of the second resident of RC Motorsport, who will support Ehrlacher.
