WTCC – A highly anticipated trio in Argentina

Citroën Racing heads into a strong position ahead of the eighth round of the WTCC World Touring Car Championship. The discipline has left Europe and begins its last part outside the Old Continent by going to Argentina. Jose Maria Lopez will obviously be the hero of an entire nation, and will present himself as leader of the general classification, with the firm intention of maintaining his lead over his teammates Yvan Muller, reigning champion and Sébastien Loeb. But the last two cities do not intend to give up. Muller won a round here last year, and the former nine-time world rally champion enjoys unfailing popularity among Albicelestial motorsport fans.

“The Autódromo Termas de Río Hondo is interesting in terms of driving. The route is rather fast and it is possible to overtake. I have to continue to have very good weekends, like at Spa-Francorchamps, to try to reduce the gap with Pechito. We usually say that the season is still long, but it is still getting shorter and shorter! »
explains Muller, who is 39 points behind in the championship. The Argentinian will have the advantage of perfectly knowing the Termas de Rio Hondo route (where he also won in C2 last year), which has undergone a complete resurfacing, as well as major renovation work concerning the facilities. Enough to promise a great show next weekend.
