Yvan Muller at the top of his form

Yvan Muller celebrated his 41st birthday this year by winning the WTCC Drivers’ title. The Frenchman is in excellent health, since he does not hesitate to take part in other events outside of his program with the American manufacturer. Thus, he was engaged in Rally of France ? Alsace aboard a Citroën Xsara and headed to Australia to compete in a V8 Supercars event.

The Chevrolet driver explains these results by the experience acquired during recent years of competition. “At least age offers the advantage of having experience,” explains Yvan Muller. ?I?m over 40 but I?m more up to it than I was at 25. Mentally, I have remained the same, but I have more experience than before. So I became better. »

Yvan Muller compares himself to the other younger drivers in the field. “When I see young drivers, they always want to set the best time, even in free practice,” he points out. “I don’t care about free practice. Qualifications are more important, but they are not the most important thing. The race remains the main objective so I concentrate on that. There are things that came to me with experience. »
