For 68 thousandths, the gap is tasty since recalling his native Haut-Rhin, Yvan Muller (Lynk&Co 03 – Cyan Racing) took pole position for Saturday's WTCR race on the Guia track in Macau.
The Frenchman achieved the best time in 2'28″661 (new record), ahead of Norbert Michelisz (Hyundai i30 – BRC) and Andy Priaulx (Lynk&Co 03 – Cyan Racing). Kevin Ceccon (Alfa Romeo – Team Mulsanne) and Yann Ehrlacher (Lynk&Co 03 – Cyan Racing) complete the top 5 of this session, showing that the Lynk&Co do not seem to suffer too much from their significant ballast (60 kg).
You have to look towards 7th place to find any trace of Rob Huff (Volkswagen Golf – SLR), when the first Audi RS3 LMS of Frédéric Vervisch (Audi Sport Team Comtoyou Racing) climbs to 11th place.
Jean-Karl Vernay (Audi RS3 LMS – Audi Sport Team Leopard Racing) and Aurélien Panis (Cupra TCR – Comtoyou Racing) finished 17th and 20th. Championship leader, Esteban Guerrieri (Honda Civic – Münnich Motorsport) only finished 13th.
A red flag was displayed to allow Medhi Bennani (Volkswagen Golf – SLR), victim of a hit on the front left and blocking the track, to get back on track.
