After the rain comes the sunshine. With the return of the sun, Race 1 of the GB3 weekend at Spa-Francorchamps was finally able to get underway on Saturday, more than five hours after the initial procedure was abandoned due to torrential downpours that had rendered the track unusable in the morning. Pulling started from pole position, having secured it in qualifying the previous day.
Initially, the Rodin driver maneuvered perfectly to take the lead alone until Les Combes. Behind her, a fierce battle between Nikita Bedrin (VRD Racing) and Martin Molnar (Rodin Motorspor) allowed her to build a gap of more than a second on the first lap.
The race was quickly neutralized by a safety car following a collision between Rowan Campbell-Pilling (Xcel Motorsport) and Patricio Gonzalez (VRD Racing), as well as the immobilization of the car by Peter Bouzinelos (Hillspeed). Pulling found themselves forced to rebuild their advantage after the restart.
Far from being destabilized, she waited for the perfect moment to accelerate towards the Bus Stop, distancing herself from the group again before maintaining a comfortable lead in the winding section, thus neutralizing any attempt at drafting in the Kemmel straight.
The threat from championship leader Bedrin was focused on Rehm. He managed to overtake him on the penultimate lap at Les Combes, but didn't have time to catch Pulling. The champion F1 Academy 2024 crossed the finish line six tenths ahead, securing a historic victory in the British single-seater championship.
