C2 – Albon takes care of his mount, Russell in the points

The rain was absent from the Hungaroring circuit (Hungary), yet the weather had a considerable importance in the appearance of the Sprint Race of the Formula 2 Sunday morning. The Pirelli tires actually suffered on a track whose temperature was around 40 degrees when the lights went out.

This caused a sudden drop in grip on certain cars, and some reversals in the final laps. The best managers have moved up the hierarchy, while the attackers from the first minutes have lost ground.;

Left fourth, Alexander albon (Dams) was careful at the start and was able to jump Luca Ghiotto (Campos Racing) on lap 25. The Thai then signed his third victory of the season, and returned to the race for the Drivers' title. “The degradation was really significant. Lucas was having trouble with his rubbers. We had a few retirements this year, but it feels good to go on vacation with this victory”, explained the winner.

Luca Ghiotto admitted that his tires were no longer in good shape. “I think I attacked too much, I was too aggressive at the start because I wanted to put too much of a gap at the start of the race." However, he finished second, ahead of the Brazilian Sergio Sette Camara (Carlin).

The overtaking of the race was achieved by Lando Norris (Pug). Second yesterday after a remarkable ride in the rain, the English rookie overtook two competitors (Nyck de Vries and Artem Markelov) in a single turn from the outside! He finished just off the podium after starting seventh.

Starting from pole with the reverse grid, Artem Markelov (Russian Time) fell down the rankings and finished 13th due to worn tires. George Russell (ART Grand Prix) was, on the contrary, the author of a great comeback. Last after mechanical problems on Saturday, the Briton finished eighth and retained the lead in the general classification.
