Campos Racing, third team entered in Eurocup-3

Never two without three. After the team founded by driver Alex Paulou and MP Motorsports, Campos Racing joins the brand new Eurocup-3 championship. The promoters of F4 Spain see their new category add a new starter to its grid for this inaugural 2023 season. The opportunity for the Spanish team to add a new name to the list of championships it competes in, in addition to F4 Spain, the European F3 Open, the FIA Formula 3 and Formula 2.

The objective for the team based in Valencia (Spain): to further support its drivers in climbing the pyramid car. " We are very happy to continue to develop and to be able to offer one more championship on the ladder towards the Formula 1, explains Adrian Campos, president of the franchise. It is an intermediate stage between F4 Spain and FIA F3, which will help and facilitate young drivers in their progression. We go in with big aspirations, just like we did in F4, and with the ambition to be competitive from the start. » The team will use a T-318 Tatuus chassis and a powertrain Alfa Romeo supplied by Autotecnica Motori.

The championship, which presents itself as a competitor to the Regional Formula by Alpine, will set down the very first luggage in its history in Belgium, on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit (May 5-7). On the rhythm of 8 meetings with 2 races per event, the Eurocup-3 will pass on several Spanish circuits (MotorLand Aragón, Jerez, Valencia and Barcelona), making a detour to Monza (Italy), Zandvoort (Austria) and Estoril (Portugal).

For now, Campos Racing's Eurocup-3 drivers have not been announced. The same goes for MP Motorosport. As for Palou Motorsport, one thing is certain: the Catalan driver will not be there on the track. He is already engaged in IndyCar Series with Chip Ganassi Racing for a fourth season in the American category, of which he is the 2021 champion.
