Nico Jamin dominated the Pro Mazda Championship meeting by winning both races of the weekend. The resident of the Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Championship put an end to the series of successes of Team Junos Racing and Team Pelfrey who have shared successes since the start of the season.

Already victorious three times last year in USF2000 on this road circuit, Nico Jamin took pole in Race 1 by setting the discipline's lap record which dated from 2006 with a time of 1'18''1385. The Rouennais dominated the first event before beating pole sitter Aaron Telitz, the Championship leader, in the second.

“We were aiming for these first victories since the start of the season, comments Nico Jamin. Every week, we raised our level against competitors and very experienced teams in the Pro Mazda Championship. Winning both Mid-Ohio races is an exceptional result for the entire team. I don't know what's special about this circuit, but we were undefeated last year and we are again this year. Cape Motorsports with Wayne Taylor Racing does a fantastic job of keeping me fighting for the win. I am proud to bring them this reward. These first victories and the current trend show that we are on pace to play for the title. I will still aim for first place in the final at Laguna Seca (September 9 to 11 in California). »

This performance from the reigning USF2000 champion allows him to consolidate his third place in the Championship by coming back to 74 points behind leader Aaron Telitz with three meetings remaining at the end of the season.
