Before the first free practice session of the Formula 1, Formula 2 were the first to de-worm the very sticky Sakhir track in Bahrain. Felipe Drugovich (UNI-Virtuosi), who rode for MP Motorsport last year, set the fastest lap in a session where everyone put on the Hard tires (1'45"340).
The Brazilian was ahead of Daniel Ticktum (Carlin/ +0”1) and New Zealand rookie Liam Lawson (Hitech/+0”2). Note the fine 4th place of Marcus Armstrong (+0"3) with the French team DAMS, ahead of one of the favorites for the title, the Russian Robert Shwartzman (Prema/+0"3).
For his part, the French Theo Pourchaire (ART Grand Prix/+0”7) ranked 11th, notably ahead of his teammate Christian Lundgaard (ART Grand Prix/11th/+0”8). As a reminder, qualifying will take place at 14:30 p.m. French time.
