Starting from sixth place in this race, Dorian Pin perhaps didn't think she'd complete such a good result at the start. Lacking pace in Jeddah, the Frenchwoman tended to observe a deficit, especially noticeable on the straights. Far from these problems, she climbed to third place in qualifying in the afternoon, less than a tenth off the pole time.

During the race, "Rocket Pocket" confirmed her renewed energy. She expressed her joy a few moments later on Canal+. “Great race. Very, very happy to have this first reverse-grid victory. The first lap was tight. We got off to a very good start, but it was a bit chaotic at the first corner.”she commented. We managed well, we were smart, so I came out second after starting sixth, so that was already a good thing done. Afterwards, we had the pace up front to go for it (better. Editor's note) and we did it."

New battle in sight for Doriane Pin

Indeed, thanks to a chaotic first bend which allowed her to take second place following Ella Lloyd's error, Doriane Pin fought a fierce battle with Emma Felbermayr at the front. "It was close! I knew we were faster and she still took a lot of risks. But I knew we were going to get her over the distance." the winner commented confidently.

Ahead of her, the battle will be different in the second race of the weekend. Chloe Chambers and Alisha Palmowski having surpassed the Frenchwoman by a few hundredths of a second, the two drivers supported by Red Bull will try to hold on to their position. Note that the British rider, who started second this Sunday, seemed close to stealing the lead from Doriane Pin at the end of race 1. The second round will take place at 19:00 p.m. (French time).
