La F1 Academy holds the second champion in its history. Arrived in Qatar with a 95-point lead over Dorian Pin (Prema), Abbi Pulling (Rodin Motorsport) converted her first match point in Race 1 on Saturday evening.
Starting third, the Englishwoman quickly moved up to second place after a good start that allowed her to attack Maya Weug (Prema) from the first corner. Comfortably installed behind Doriane Pin, who signed the two pole positions of the weekend, the protégé ofAlpine then just managed. After quickly pushing Maya Weug back by a handful of seconds, the Englishman listened to his engineer who asked him not to tempt fate. So, she had a relatively quiet Race 1, far from Doriane Pin who led from start to finish.
The Tricolore, who negotiated her start perfectly, converted this pole position into a third victory after those of Jeddah and Zandvoort, winning with a lead of almost 7 seconds. However, this was not enough to push back the coronation of Abbi Pulling, even if it seemed almost impossible, even before the start of the weekend. Maya Weug completed the podium ahead of Hamda Al Qubaisi (MP Motorsport) and Alisha Palmowski (Prema).
After Marta Garcia in 2023, Abbi Pulling is therefore the second champion in the history of the F1 Academy in a season where she dominated the competition with notably 7 pole positions, 11 podiums in as many races including 7 victories.
