F2 – C1: Charles Leclerc winner despite damage

The race got off to a difficult start with Nyck De Vries (Rapax), Alexander albon (ART GP) and Callum Ilott (Trident) stopped on the grid, the Dutchman not being able to start from the pits.

At the beginning, Charles Leclerc (Prema Racing) and Norman Born (Arden) had the best action while Oliver Rowland (DAMS) lost a place and found himself third. Starting on soft tires, the leading drivers passed through the pits between the seventh and eighth laps. It was at this moment that the car of the Monegasque leader begins to smoke without disturbing the driver but still asking a technical question at the finish of the race.

Hard tires having a much better lifespan than soft tires and without interruption of the race, Nobuharu Matushita (ART GP), part 8e was unable to make this strategy work and finally saw Leclerc get back on him before his stop with six laps remaining.

Nothing was to come between him and his fifth victory of the season. Despite the pressure exerted throughout the second part of the race, Norman Nato kept his second place over Oliver Rowland at the finish.

Artem Markelov (Russian Time) finishes 4e thanks to an aggressive start to the race and ahead of Sergio Canamasas (Rapax) at the finish. After a battle in the last lap, Luca Ghiotto (Russian Time) finishes 6e ahead of Jordan King (MP Motorsport). Nicholas latifi (DAMS) pockets the reverse pole ahead of Sean Gelael (Arden) and Matsushita who fails in 10e instead.
