F2 – C2: Markelov returns to victory

As in the first race, several cars failed to take off and among them, the Prema of Sean Gealel in 2e position and the ART GPs of George Russell and Jack Aitken. This allows Nyck de Vries (Prema Racing) to take the lead by passing Maximilian Günther (Arden) at the first corner. Artem markelov (Russian Time) is also the author of a good start and finds himself 3e in the first round, then 2e five laps later passing Günther.

Prema stops De Vries at 10e lap to put on soft tires and repeat the performance of Charles Leclerc last year. However, the bet did not take off this year, De Vries failing to catch up with the leading quartet. As usual, the degradation of the tires was the key to the race, allowing Artem Markelov not to be worried by the rookie Günther, in difficulty with the Pirelli but still managing to keep the Carlins of Sette Câmara And Norris behind him.

Artem Markelov won the second race of the season ahead of Maximilian Günther who reached his first podium in F2 and Sergio Sette Câmara. Lando Norris finishes 4e but leaves Bahrain at the top of the championship. Luca Ghiotto (Campos) finishes 6e ahead of Ralph Boschung (MP Motorsport) and Nirei Fukuzumi (Arden) battling it out until the checkered flag for the final points. Louis Delétraz (Charouz) finishes 9e, his pit stop strategy not having paid off. Nicholas latifi (DAMS), although he called before the formation round, completes the top 10.
