F2 – Charles Leclerc still on pole in Hungary

Charles Leclerc (Prema Racing) was once again imperial during the qualifications of the F2 contested this weekend on the Hungaroring (Hungary). The Championship leader dominated his opponents by completing a lap of the Budapest track in 1'26''268.

The resident of the Ferrari Driver Academy relegated its closest pursuer, Oliver Rowland (Dams), to 4 tenths, and achieved the new record in the discipline by signing a 7th consecutive pole (Stoffel Vandoorne's record broken), remaining undefeated this year in the exercise qualifications.

Artem Markelov and Jordan King will share the second row of the grid after finishing half a second behind Charles Leclerc. Norman Nato will start from 6th position between Antonio Fuoco and Nyck de Vries.

For his F2 debut, Haas development driver F1 Team Santino Ferrucci (Trident) took 11th position, 8 tenths from pole. The session was interrupted by a red flag following a spin by Sean Gelael (Pertamina Arden). The Indonesian will start from the back of the grid.
