F2 – Günther joins Arden International

After two full seasons in F3 European Championship within the Prema Powerteam, the protégé of Mercedes Maximilian Günther takes a new step by committing to F2 with Arden International. The 20-year-old German, F3 vice-champion in 2016 and third last year, will join the Japanese Nirei Fukuzumi. He will notably find his rival in F3 Lando Norris engaged with Carlin.

“I'm clearly ready to take this next step and I can't wait to compete against some of the best riders in the world. I know this progression will be successful with the support of the experienced Arden team”, comments the new recruit from Arden International.

Arden International will thus field a crew of rookies since the Japanese driver comes from the GP3 Series.

“Maxi has been a very fast and consistent driver in recent years in the F3 European Championship. With Nirei, we believe we will start the season with one of the best rookie crews in F2”, adds Kenny Kirwan, team manager of Arden International.

Arden International finished the 2017 season in seventh place in the Teams' Championship, just one point behind MP Motorsport. The F2 winter tests are scheduled for this Wednesday in Magny-Cours (Nièvre).
