F2 – Nato wins on the streets of Baku

Norman Nato (Pertamina Arden) scored his first victory of the season in F2, the 3rd of his career, by winning Race 2 in Baku (Azerbaijan). The Frenchman gave in to Charles Leclerc (Prema Racing) who made a superb comeback from 8th position but who was penalized 10 seconds for not respecting the yellow flags.

Nicholas latifi (Dams) completed the podium by falling 1”5 behind Charles Leclerc, ahead of Jordan King (MP Motorsport). The Briton preceded the Russians Sergey Sirotkin (ART Grand Prix) and Artem Markelov (Russian Time) who finished wheel to wheel. Nobuharu Matshishita (ART Grand Prix) took 7th place ahead of Luca Ghiotto.

Starting from pole, Ralph Boschung (Campos Racing) lost 8 places to only take 9th position ahead of Sergio Sette Camara.

Charles Leclerc performed well in the Championship since he saw his main opponents give up and left Baku with a lead of 42 points.

Oliver Rowland (Dams), penalized by 3 places the day before, was in control of the event before dismounting following a gearbox problem. Nyck de Vries (Rapax) also threw in the towel after going straight while in 2nd place. The Briton is now tied on points with Artem Markelov.
