F2 – New pole for Charles Leclerc at Jerez

The Prema Racing driver, Charles Leclerc, once again brought his pure speed to the fore Jerez (Spain) where he dominated the qualifying session from start to finish. With a time of 1'24''684, he is 26 hundredths ahead of the Italian Luca Ghiotto (Russian Times). Sergio Sette Câmara (MP Motorsport), galvanized since its victory at Spa-Francorchamps, offers itself a top 3 in qualifying and the luxury of ahead of 2nd in the championship, Oliver Rowland (DAMS).

Thanks to a last minute improvement, Artem Markelov (Russian Time) sets the 5th time, 7 tenths behind Leclerc. The ART Grand PrixAlexander albon et Nobuharu Matsushita follow in 6th and 7th place. Nyck de Vries (Racing Engineering) takes the 8th time of the session ahead of Nicholas latifi (DAMS). Norman Born (Arden) finished the session in the top 10.

With this pole position, Charles Leclerc further increases its lead in the championship with 63 points ahead of Oliver Rowland. This means he only has to score two points more than the Briton and finish ahead of the Russian Time to be champion from the next race. Furthermore, the pilot Ferrari equals the GP2 Series pole position record set by Stoffel Vandoorne and Pierre Gasly.
