Fernley new president of the FIA single-seater commission
Evening of announcements this Thursday at the FIA World Motor Sport Council. In addition to the various calendars and regulations approved, the Federation has also reviewed its internal organization, notably with a new president of the championships commission. car.
Robert Fernley, boss of the Force India team until its liquidation in 2018 and the new name Racing Point, will take charge of the said commission in place of Stefano Domenicali.
The latter, also president of Lamborghini, will now become the boss of the Formula 1 replacing Chase Carey next January.
In addition to F1, Robert Fernley has also worked in IndyCar. He was particularly responsible for the program of McLaren in the Indy 500 but left his position six months after his appointment since Fernando Alonso failed to qualify for the 103rd edition in 2019.
