Ferrucci heavily penalized after Silverstone

Santino Ferrucci certainly didn't score points this weekend with Haas F1 Team where he holds the position of development driver. The 20-year-old American deliberately collided with his teammate Arjun Maini after the finish of the sprint race at Silverstone (Great Britain) won by Maximilian Gunther (BWT Arden).

The matter did not end there since Santino Ferrucci subsequently refused to appear before the commissioners. The latter therefore decided to exclude the Trident driver from two upcoming meetings in Budapest (July 28-29) and Spa-Francorchamps (August 25-26) and to impose a fine of €60 on him.

Subsequently, Santino Ferrucci received a second fine in the amount of €6000 for having been seen heading from the support race paddock to the pits wearing only a glove and holding a telephone, violating thus the regulations concerning safety.

Santino Ferrucci is in 18th place in the Championship with seven points scored, but the American's situation could further become complicated given the reaction of the Trident team. The Italian structure has indicated that it no longer intends to work with him.

“Trident intends to show its solidarity and support to Arjun Maini and his family after the unsportsmanlike and wild behavior he had to endure this last weekend, not only by Santino Ferrucci but also by the latter's father who accompanied him. The contractual obligations of what happened today will be studied by our lawyers. We have never experienced anything like this in 12 years of sporting activities. We apologize for this spectacle which was unfortunately offered", she said.
