  • The misfortunes of pole sitter Dennis Hauger (MP Motorsport) brought happiness to a certain Gabriel Bortoleto (Invicta Racing). The Norwegian, who stalled when starting the formation lap, left the way clear for the Brazilian who quickly got the better of Joshua Dürksen (AIX Racing), second on the grid and “poleman” in spite of himself after the Hauger's misadventure.
  • Starting on super-softs, the safest strategy this Sunday, Gabriel Bortoleto mastered his subject perfectly. In a race where the Safety Car ultimately never intervened, despite the numerous risks on the Red Bull Ring, the Brazilian set his own pace. His only threat was Franco Colapinto (MP Motorsport) who opted for an offbeat strategy by starting on softs and then switching to super-softs. A choice that almost paid off since the Argentinian extended his stint as much as possible to stop on the 32nd of the 40 laps of this Main Race.
  • But ultimately, he was too short to pick up Gabriel Bortoleto who rode alone during the second part of the race to win with a little more than 4 seconds ahead of his South American neighbor. This is the rookie's first success in F2, which will allow him to move up to 3rd place in the championship.

Quarrels at Campos, Hadjar on the podium

  • On the third step of the podium, it was Isack Hadjar (Campos) who was invited after a long set of instructions on the radio. Coming out behind his teammate Josep María Martí, the Habs did not hesitate to open his channel to make it clear that he had more pace, indirectly asking to be let through.
  • After long rounds of negotiation, the Spaniard complied so that Isack Hadjar could pick up Gabriel Bortoleto. In vain. If he asked for “2 or 3 additional laps” to attack before returning the position to Pepe Martí, the Red Bull protégé finally finished in front of his neighbor in the garage, very annoyed on the radio after the checkerboard. A situation which will obviously be debriefed internally.
  • In the meantime, this 4th podium of the season allows Isack Hadjar to reduce the gap against championship leader Paul Aron (Hitech GP). Having risen to 16 points after this Saturday's Sprint Race, it is now 9. The Habs took advantage of the Estonian's penalty for having shifted when braking when he was defending his position on… Isack Hadjar. Arrived 5th, the elder in the fold Mercedes fell back to 6th place just behind Enzo Fittipaldi (VAR) after receiving a 5-second penalty.
  • Victor Martins (ART Grand Prix) could not hope for much in this Main Race, finishing 12th.
