Clément Novalak: “It is in adversity that we grow”

After a British F3 championship title in 2019 and a 3rd place overall in FIA F3 in 2021, the French driver had a complicated first Formula 2 season at MP Motorsport (14th), where he was associated with champion Felipe Drugovich. Always lucid, Clément has agreed to reopen the book of his painful 2022 campaign, while looking forward with desire and ambition to the next one, where he will find the Trident team.

Clément, the 2022 season was tricky, with a small podium and only six points entries in 28 races. How do you rate it?

It is clear that it was a difficult year, but with many lessons learned. I also probably had the strongest teammate on the grid, which didn't help. (Smile) Getting along well with Felipe (Drugovich. Editor's note) allowed me to experience things better. Of course, I was a rookie and he was in his 3rd year. I knew that 2022 would be above all a learning season, but it was still hard to take. It is in adversity that we grow and I am sure that this year will be important for the rest of my career.
