It is no coincidence that we included it among the favorites of the season. In Bahrain this Friday morning (afternoon on site), Felipe Drugovich (MP Motorsport) showed that he will have to be counted on, at least in this first round of the year.

On a circuit that he seems to like (winner of the Main Race in 2020 and author of the chronometric reference for winter testing), the Brazilian set the best time in the only training session on the day's program. With a lap completed in 1'44"484, the driver of the Dutch team dominated all of his comrades and by a good margin. Indeed, his closest pursuer, Ayumu Iwasa (DAMS), was 0 behind on the line while his teammate Roy Nissany completed the “podium” just over two and a half tenths behind Felipe Drugovich.

On the French side, the best performance of the session came from Clément Novalak (MP Motorsport). A time in the lead with a lap in 1'44"768, the Frenchman finally fell back to 4e rank to finish almost 3 tenths from his neighbor in the garage. Second representative of France in F2, Theo Pourchaire (ART Grand Prix) could not do better than 14th, 1″3 behind Felipe Drugovich.

To find any trace of the reigning champions Prema, you have to go down to 6th place. Back in the ranks of the Italian team, Jehan Daruvala took the lead midway through the session before taking the checkerboard 0 behind Felipe Drugovich. His teammate Dennis Hauger, champion in F3 last year, was kicked out of the Top 10 (11th) and finished almost 9 tenths from first place.
