No name change, and no radical shift taken by the two support categories of the Formula 1However, while the season continues this weekend in the Principality, alongside the Monaco Grand Prix, F2 and the F3 are getting a makeover. Out with the logos made of shapes and shadows, in with flat designs, bolder colors, and all the more recognizable in the future. For the Formula 2Sky blue remains, but is intended to be more intense. Gone are the light and dark color variations; in their place is white, more refined.
For Formula 3, the choice is even more deliberate. While the FIA category sported colors of grey and red, the choice was made in favor of orange. Here again, a bright color, chosen for its dynamic, energetic and vibrant character, reflecting the young and competitive spirit of the championship, according to the promoter.
“I am delighted to unveil our new F2 and F3 logos, developed in close collaboration with Formula 1 and the FIA,”commented Bruno Michel, head of the two categories preceding F1. Our goal was to better visually illustrate the path to Formula 1 through the elite motorsport pyramid. Blue has always been the color of F2 and is well known to its fans. For F3, we seized the opportunity to incorporate a new, vibrant, and dynamic orange into the logo, which we are convinced will appeal to the fans.
For his part, Stefano Domenicali, president and CEO of F1, corroborated the desire for modernization being developed. “Formula 2 and Formula 3 are essential to our sport, as they provide the training and framework necessary for drivers to progress to Formula 1. It is important that fans clearly understand how this pyramid works, and a clean and modern visual identity, in harmony with F1, contributes to this.”
It remains to be seen whether the official display of rankings, in particular, will also change.
