Although the practice and qualifying sessions of Formula 3 have given rise to many more twists and turns and going off track than in Formula 2, the penalty places were not forgotten at the end of Friday by the FIA. In this case, Arvid Lindblad's difficult start to the weekend was confirmed, while his Spanish teammate missed a great opportunity to play for victory in the first moments of the upcoming race.

Indeed, as far as the Briton is concerned, qualifying had already resulted in a 12th-place finish for the weekend's two races. Missing his passage, the current third-place finisher in the championship was nevertheless penalized after the session for impeding Oliver Goethe (MP Motorsport) during his attempt at a fast lap. Ahead of this Saturday's race, the protégé of the Red Bull will therefore start from 15th place, and will have to redouble his efforts to avoid being left behind in the championship. He is only eight points behind Alex Dunne (Rodin Motorsport), leader of F2.

For Josep Maria Martí, the penalty is similar to Lindblad's. Ninth in qualifying, the Spaniard had the opportunity to start from the front row of the sprint race. Instead, he will start the race from fifth position. The reason is similar to that of his teammate: he interfered with Cian Shields during the qualifying session. Among the other effects of this demotion, Alex Dunne has gained a position on the grid this Saturday and will start in third position. Could this allow him to extend his lead in the championship?
