Victor Martins, wipe the slate clean of 2024 before the last chance year

Victor Martins, the best rookie in 2023, unfortunately failed to confirm his form in 2024, when he was one of the favorites for the title in his second year. Trapped by the arrival of a new car that reshuffled the cards, the French driver, like his ART Grand Prix team, took a hit and was unable to really perform at the level he had hoped for.

Seventh at the end of the season after having managed to raise his head in the second part (4 podiums and a pole position in the last 6 rounds), the Parisian did not want to stop there. After reflection, he opted for a third season of Formula 2, still under the colors of ART Grand Prix. With equipment that he now knows and masters, he hopes to finally achieve his goal: winning the championship title.

It's hard to imagine that this one will open the doors of the F1 despite all his desires, like a Theo Pourchaire in 2023 (champion after three years), but Victor Martins wants to believe until the end and is giving himself every chance to achieve it. With all the knowledge acquired and his level displayed throughout the pyramid of car (Formula champion Renault and Formula 3, best F2 rookie in 203), there is no doubt that he will be able to play regularly up front as he did during his rookie year.

« This is an important year, he answers, aware of the issues. If we manage to perform well, it will be thanks to [to the teachings] from 2024. I forget a little [what happened in] 2024, I take everything I need, everything I learned last year with the engineers, but we forget the rest of the season.

When we weren't there and we weren't performing well, we forget about it. We're aware of what we did at the end of the year, where we were in the fight, from mid-season to the end, around second place, and that's what it comes down to. [in the lead] that we must start in 2025.

I don't think I have to dominate, but I know I'll have the equipment at my disposal to do so. I'm taking the pressure off, trying to enjoy it, but like I said, this is my last chance. That's how it is, you have to accept it, this is my last chance! I can't say it isn't because it is, it's the reality. We have to accept it, put everything aside and focus on bringing the title home.. » At least, this has the merit of being quite clear in his mind because unlike some who linger in the peloton, Victor Martins does not have any ambition to return in 2026 for a 4th year. This would mean that the doors of F1 will have closed for good... So it's 2025 or nothing!
