Luke Browning held his own against the return of Arvid Lindblad to take his first pole position in FIA F3, in Austria this Friday.

Austria – Qualifying: Browning by a breath ahead of Lindblad for his first pole

  • In the game of finding the best position on the track to avoid being trapped by traffic on the short Spielberg track, Luke Browning (Hitech GP) emerged victorious. At the head of the procession when taking to the track for the final attempts of these qualifications, the Englishman succeeded perfectly in his challenge.
  • Using a strategy of two flying laps, the winner of the 2023 Macau Grand Prix achieved his best run during the first with a time of 1'20"222 beating by more than two tenths the record of the last pole-sitter to date in the category in Austria , Grégoire Saucy in 1'20"457.
  • On the Austrian tarmac, only Arvid Lindblad (Prema) finally stood up to Luke Browning but the protégé of Red Bull finally lost by 84 thousandths to that of Williams.
  • Tim Tramnitz (MP Motorsport), Gabriele Mini (Prema) and Dino Beganovic (Prema) completed the Top 5 while the championship leader, Leonardo Fornaroli (Trident) ranked 8th, 0 behind his runner-up.
  • Twelfth on the timesheet, Christian Mansell (ART Grand Prix) takes pole position for the Sprint Race this Saturday (9:30 a.m.).
  • Bad session for the only Habs involved, Sami Meguetounif (Trident). In difficulty in recent weeks, the rookie could not do better than 17th.
