Formula E – Mahindra Racing, eighth team to attempt the adventure

For its first year of existence, the Formula E will put 20 electric single-seaters in competition (10 teams of two drivers. Editor’s note). This morning an eighth team, Mahindra Racing, announced its commitment to the series.

“We are convinced that Formula E will be able to offer a showcase to promote the technology of our electric vehicles, said Anand Mahindra. With our expertise in electronics and new technologies, we know that motor racing, and in particular Formula E, will allow us to make people aware of the benefits of electric vehicles. »

Already well involved in the development and production of zero-emission vehicles, the multinational company Mahindra Group based in Mumbai is also involved in MotoGP. It therefore has great ambitions.

“Mahindra Racing is relatively young but we have seen how racing is beneficial to our business, whether in terms of technology or motivation,” explained President SP Shukla.

The Mahindra Racing team therefore joins Drayson Racing, China Racing, Andretti Autosport, Dragon Racing, e.dams, Super Aguri and Audi Sport Abt.

The 2014-2015 Formula E season, which has a ten-date calendar, will begin in Beijing on September 20, 2014 and end in London on June 27, 2015.
