The partnership between the two brands started in the best possible way, in Season 9. Jake Dennis indeed won the drivers' title at the end of the season, with nine podiums, including two victories. The Andretti team will therefore continue to use the Porsche 99X Electric until the end of 2026.
Andretti is currently in third position in the teams' championship, ahead of the two rounds in Berlin this weekend. The American team is ahead of leaders Jaguar and Porsche in this exercise. However, the performances of the two Porsche-powered entities allow the German brand to lead the manufacturers' championship, new for Season 10.
“It’s an exciting time to be part of the Formula E and we are confident in our position in the championship, which is largely due to our partnership with Porsche”, declared Michael Andretti, boss of Andretti Global. « Since day one, our goal has been to win races and championships, and Porsche has helped us achieve both goals since we joined forces ahead of Season 9. With all the successes we've shared with the GEN3, I'm excited to see what we can do together in the GEN3 Evo era. »
A very important extension for Porsche
The new era of Formula E will indeed begin in Season 11, with the arrival of the GEN3 Evo. This new car could redistribute the cards, with a different use of the powertrains. The two engines present in the cars will this time be able to operate in tandem, and drivers will be able to use the four-wheel drive system in qualifying, as well as at the start of races and during the Attack Mode phase.
« We are obviously very happy with the continuation of our partnership”, added Thomas Laudenbach, vice-president of Porsche Motorsport. « The Andretti name is one of the most renowned in the world of motorsport, which is why the contract extension is of particular importance to us. Andretti and the Porsche factory team work together in many areas in Formula E.”
