We should not say season 2026, but Season 12. True to its unique operation, spanning two calendar years, Formula E has unveiled its next calendar this Tuesday, June 10. For the second consecutive time, the inaugural round will take place in São Paulo on December 6, before moving on to 2026. With 18 races on the program – compared to 16 this year – the 12th season will be the richest in the history of this young category.

For now, this is only a preliminary projection: the 11th and 12th rounds, scheduled for May 30 and June 20 respectively, have yet to be confirmed. Jakarta, the only event present in Season 11 to be currently ruled out, therefore still has a chance of appearing on the calendar.

Two notable changes are worth noting: first of all, the Formula E will use the same circuit as the F1 in Miami, a first. After having taken a first urban route in 2014, then the Homestead circuit, which notably hosts the NASCAR, the all-electric category may have found a sustainable solution in Florida. Another new feature is that it will be going to Madrid, not to the "Madring" which will host F100 in 1, but to the Jarama circuit.

No revolution, but some adjustments to the calendar in Season 12

As in Season 11, six events will host two races on the same weekend: one on Saturday, the other on Sunday. Made possible by the reduced format of Formula E rounds, condensed into a single day, this organization allows for a greater number of races on the calendar. However, there will be no changes for this year, as the exact same events will host this format: Jeddah, Berlin, Monaco, Shanghai, Tokyo, and London.

Among the main changes compared to the previous season, the Miami and Berlin rounds have been moved forward, while those in Shanghai and Tokyo have been moved back. Otherwise, the calendar remains similar to that of Season 11, with two races in London to close the championship.

Like Stoffel Vandoorne, Jean-Éric Vergne or even Sébastien Buemi, many of the Formula E drivers are also involved in WEC. The announcement of the 2026 World Championship calendarEndurance will therefore have a major effect on the course of this Season 12, which will surely take second place for most of them. The opportunity for those who are focusing on the car to make a big hit?

Formula E in Miami, not sure that will make the Yankees love coffee grinders! Too bad the urban circuits of Punta del Este, Hong Kong and Cape Town with their seaside backdrops are no longer on the calendar!
