After organizing a similar session in 2018 in Diriyah, Saudi Arabia, the Formula E is including this specific session in its official pre-season test programme in Valencia this year. Each team entered (11 in total) will have to enter at least one car in this special session. The championship will encourage all teams to enter two, but this will remain at the discretion of each team. There will therefore be between 11 and 22 drivers entered in these tests, the same Gen3 Evos that will make their competitive debut in São Paulo, Brazil, at the end of the year.
We should logically find Marta García there. The 24-year-old Spanish pilot, champion F1 Academy, has already driven for the ERT team during the Berlin tests, earlier in the season. According to information from The Race, Jamie Chadwick should also return to the paddock of the 100% electric championship. She has already tested Gen2 single-seaters twice, in 2018 and 2020.
Currently leading the F1 Academy, Abbi Pulling is also expected to be able to take part in this session, as are Sophia Flörsch, Jessica Edgar and Chloe Chambers. The teams will announce in the coming weeks the drivers selected to take part in this session. 400 members of the FIA Girls on Track programme will also be invited to Valencia, to discover the Formula E paddock from the inside, and to continue to inspire more and more young girls from all over the world to take up racing in all areas of motorsport.
