The Gen4, unveiled on April 21, 2026 at the Paul Ricard circuit, will power the Formula E towards unprecedented levels of performance, which flirt with those of the Formula 1 that holds the top spot. " La nouvelle car GEN4 Formula E marks a significant milestone in the evolution of electric racing " insists the FIA president, Mohammed Ben Sulayem.

With a 0 to 100 km/h time of around 1,8 seconds and a top speed exceeding 335 km/h, this electric single-seater surpasses its predecessor Gen3 Evo by 50% in racing power and by 71% in Attack Mode (600 kW).

Thanks to its all-wheel drive – unique among single-seaters – the fourth generation car accelerates from 0-200 km/h in 4,4 seconds, 1,5 seconds faster than the Gen3 Evo. This shaves 10 seconds off lap times in qualifying and at least 5 seconds off street circuits, promising more thrilling wheel-to-wheel battles than ever before in Formula E. Today we are reaching performance levels that were considered impossible for electric vehicles just five years ago. " emphasizes Jeff Dodds, CEO of the discipline.

Equipped with an enlarged cockpit, power steering, and an adjustable driving position, the Gen4 also incorporates tires made from 65% natural and recycled materials and a battery free of rare earth minerals. The first 100% recyclable race car, with a minimum of 20% of its major components recycled, it embodies the true Net Zero commitment of the all-electric championship.

If all the manufacturers involved, PorscheJaguar, Stellantis, Nissan, Mahindra and Lola Cars were gathered for this presentation, only the first three took to the track on the Var circuit with the Gen4 which will make its entry into competition during season 13 (2026/27), the calendar of which has not yet been revealed.
