A new trophy for the Formula E. This Friday, the 100% electric discipline announced the creation of a new championship for Manufacturers, requested for several years for the brands involved in Formula E. This new trophy will be presented this season: the results of the first three E-Prix already contested are therefore counted, in addition to the following 13 including the next round organized this weekend in São Paulo (Brazil). The Manufacturers' Trophy will become a true Manufacturers' World Championship next year, during Season 11.

Although it bears the name of the Manufacturers' Trophy, this championship rather rewards engine manufacturers: in fact, all the teams have a standard chassis supplied by Spark, while the powertrains are designed by the manufacturers involved. There are six of them this season: Electric Racing Technologies (ERT), Jaguar (Jaguar and Envision), Mahindra Racing (Mahindra and ABT-Cupra), Nissan (Nissan and McLaren), Porsche (Porsche and Andretti), and Stellantis (DS Penske and Maserati).

“This is long-term work which marks an important step in the evolution of the championship, because it reflects the competitive spirit that drives Formula E, rejoiced Alberto Longo, co-founder and director of the Formula E championship. Our manufacturers are at the heart of our adventure, pushing the boundaries of technology and sustainability in motorsport. Their contributions are essential, not only in shaping the future of racing, but also in advancing electric vehicle technology for the road. This trophy will celebrate their innovation, their commitment and the role they play in leading us towards a more sustainable future. »
