Located on the site of Berlin's former airport, the 2,374 km circuit is one of the most demanding on the calendar. Its abrasive surface, technical configuration, and the fact that races are often run in a pack make it a course where energy management plays a crucial role. This context promises, once again, unpredictable and strategic scenarios.

On this circuit, Nick Cassidy and Jean-Éric Vergne have strong credentials. The New Zealander has won there three times consecutively since the introduction of the GEN3 era (2023, 2024, 2025), making Berlin one of his favorite tracks. For his part, the Frenchman boasts impressive consistency with a record of four pole positions and eight podium finishes on this circuit, confirming his mastery of the specific characteristics of Tempelhof.

The weekend promises to be particularly demanding with two distinct race formats. Round 7, held on Saturday, will introduce Pit Boost as well as a single six-minute Attack Mode activation. This system could drastically alter the dynamics of the Berlin races, traditionally very close together, by encouraging more aggressive strategies.

On Sunday, round 8 will revert to a more classic format, without Pit Boost, but with eight minutes of Attack Mode to be used freely. This alternation requires teams to be highly adaptable and to read the races closely.

Citroën has already won this season with Cassidy

Citroën Racing approaches this race with legitimate ambitions. The team has shown promise since the start of the season, from a podium finish in São Paulo to a significant victory in Mexico with Cassidy, while also using the break to address some weaknesses. In this context, Berlin appears to be a turning point.

« Berlin is always a key moment in the season, especially with a double-header. The combination of Pit Boost and Attack Mode-related strategies adds complexity. " emphasizes Cyril Blais, Team Principal. We showed good potential at the start of the season, but the goal now is to be consistent and maximize every opportunity. »

Nick Cassidy is also showing confidence as he approaches a circuit where he has a particularly good record: Berlin is a track where I've often performed well in recent years. The challenge will be even more interesting with the Pit Boost on Saturday. The objective is clear: to score as many points as possible in both races. »

Jean-Éric Vergne shares this ambition, emphasizing the precision required at Tempelhof. It's a very technical circuit that rewards efficiency. analyzes the Frenchman. The difference in format between the two races will maintain a high level of pressure. The goal will be to translate our efforts into solid results over the entire weekend. »

With two races, evolving strategies, and significant stakes in the title race, Citroën Racing has a lot riding on Berlin. This weekend could have a major impact on the rest of the season.
