Matteo De Palo clearly left little room for competition on Hungarian soil this Saturday. Posting the fastest time in qualifying this morning, the Italian driver dominated the first of the weekend's two races head and shoulders. Thanks in part to a better start than the other leaders, he was never caught again, leaving the podium contenders to battle it out.

Third, Enzo Deligny managed to gain a position on Rashid Al Dhaheri (Prema) without delay. In a duel with Brazilian Pedro Clerot (VAR) for several minutes, the Frenchman endured his opponent's aggressive defense but was unable to get the better of him. He nevertheless secured another podium finish, having still not managed to reach pole position so far this year, but continued his fine run, building on a valuable form of consistency.

Championship leader Freddie Slater (Prema) was unable to get away from Rashid Al Dhaheri. The Briton secured a good position, however, notably ahead of the other Frenchman on the grid, Evan Giltaire. The ART GP rider unfortunately got off to a less good start than he had managed in the last rounds, and saw Hiyu Yamakoshi (VAR) overtake him in the standings of this race. Further back, Dorian Pin failed to improve on her 19th place at Spa, her best result in FRECA this year, as she finished in 20th place. The other female rider on the grid for this weekend, Maya Weug, recovered from last place to finish 26th.

On Sunday, qualifying will take place from 8:30 a.m. (French time), while the second and final race of this weekend in Hungary will take place from 15:40 p.m.
