Pirelli to supply all Formula Regional championships from 2026

Pirelli to supply all Formula Regional championships from 2026

In 2021, the Regional Formula merged with the Formula Renault to become FRECA (Formula Regional Europen by Alpine). Since the creation of the Regional Formula in 2019, Pirelli has supplied its tires to the category, and is preparing to continue, while extending this partnership with the FIA. This Sunday morning, the Italian manufacturer announced that it will supply all the Regional Formula championships around the world under the auspices of the FIA, starting in 2026.

"Pirelli is already the worldwide partner of the World Championship of Formula 1 of the FIA ​​and the Championships of Formula 2 and Formula 3 of the FIA ​​and, with this announcement, it reaffirms its role as exclusive supplier of tires for all categories managed by the FIA, can be read in the press release. In addition, Pirelli is also the exclusive designated tire supplier for the Formula Regional and Formula 4 World Cups which will take place as part of the Macau Grand Prix from November 13 to 16.

New tires for a new FRECA from 2026

As FRECA prepares to receive a new typology of car Starting next season, just as Formula 2 and Formula 3 have also evolved in 2024 and 2025, the tire supplier announces that changes will also be made to the compounds.

“Pirelli will develop a new 15-inch tire for this car, which will offer a higher technical specification, more excitement on the track and standardized performance across all championships, they specify. The aim is to provide a consistent development path for drivers, regardless of the region in which they race. As the new car is gradually introduced across all Formula Regional championships, Pirelli will expand its exclusive supply.
