FRAC – Race 1: Sebastian Montoya wins, Mumbai Falcons hat-trick

Starting from pole position for this first race of the weekend at the Dubai Autodrome, Sebastian Montoya (Mumbai Falcons) resisted the attacks of Isack Hadjar (Hitech GP) during the first round despite a complicated start for the Colombian. Behind the leading duo, Jake Crawford completely missed his start and fell from third to 16th place. His first place preserved, Montoya quickly made the difference and flew towards another victory this season for what should be his last round in FRAC this year before being stopped in his tracks with a quarter of an hour to go. The race was indeed interrupted by a red flag following an engine failure for Francesco Braschi (3Y Technology).

The race resumed for less than ten minutes. Montoya took cover from the restart while Arthur Leclerc fought to get back into the peloton and maintain his leadership position in the championship. Isack Hadjar was penalized five seconds for poor positioning on the grid, just like his teammate Leonardo Fornaroli, then third, and nothing could prevent Montoya from winning in front of his teammates Arthur Leclerc and Dino Beganovic, thus offering a hat-trick to the Mumbai Falcons team.

See you this Sunday at 7:35 a.m. French time for race 2. Michael Belov (Evans GP), tenth this Saturday, will start in first position.
