Alexandre Munoz won Race 1, Maximilian Popov won Race 3, and Spa-Francorchamps hosted a number of firsts last weekend. In the pouring rain of the Belgian Ardennes, Race 2 – initially scheduled with a reverse grid – was cancelled to make way for Race 1, for which the ART Grand Prix driver started from pole position. There were many battles, notably with Rashid Al Dhaheri on Saturday, but it was a first French victory this year that capped off the weekend. That said, at the end of this eventful race, in which no clear leader managed to secure the win, the consistency of Al Dhaheri – an academy driver – was highlighted. Mercedes Benz – allowed him to climb to the top of the championship, by a single point ahead of Sebastian Wheldon, winner at Zandvoort.
