It was a weekend of firsts at Spa-Francorchamps at the end of May. On Sunday, while Race 2, initially scheduled with a reverse grid, was cancelled to make way for Race 1 (postponed due to weather conditions), the second round of the meeting saw Italian Maximilian Popov take the victory. Crowned champion for the first time, the Trident driver followed in the footsteps of Frenchman Alexandre Munoz, who won for the first time on Saturday.

In this instance, the pole-sitter managed to convert his morning performance into a podium finish, thus finishing ahead of Alexander Abkhazava and Rashid Al Dhaheri. Solid in the battles, the two drivers notably managed to resist the early attacks of Alexandre Munoz, who had started third on the grid. Despite having a car perfectly set up for a wet track the previous day, the Frenchman plummeted down the order after enduring several aggressive attacks, notably from Alex Ninovic and Kean Nakamura-Berta.

While there were generally fewer safety car periods this weekend after the chaotic Zandvoort race, it's worth noting that Sunday's race ended under the Safety Car. Miguel Costa and Saïd Almaosherji both went off the track, one of which was itself caused by the Safety Car, just seconds before the restart.

On the French side, besides Alexandre Munoz's 9th place, Jules Roussel and Andrea Dupé finished 13th and 15th respectively, still hovering near the points zone. Finally, while Sebastian Wheldon, a two-time winner at Zandvoort, finished this race in 10th position, the fact remains that Rashid Al Dhaheri and Kean Nakamura-Berta, among others, are the undisputed leaders of the overall standings at this stage.
