GP2 – Gasly still on pole ahead of Giovinazzi

After Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium) where the Prema Racing drivers monopolized the first row of the grid for Race 1 of the GP2 Series last week, Pierre Gasly and Antonio Giovinazzi reproduced the same performance in Monza (Italy).

While he encountered a mechanical problem during testing preventing him from completing the session, the resident of Red Bull Junior Team set the best qualifying time with a lap completed in 1'31''199. The leader of the Drivers classification was ahead of his teammate by 54 thousandths.

Artem Makelov (Russian Time) was the closest, failing by three tenths, while Arthur Pic (Rapax) will complete the second row after ahead of Mitch Evans (Campos Racing) and Jordan King (Racing Engineering). Alex Lynn (Dams) ranked seventh ahead of Nabil Jeffri (Arden International) and Sergey Sirotkin (ART Grand Prix). Norman Nato (Racing Engineering) will complete the top ten on the grid.
