GP2 – Luca Ghiotto joins Artem Markelov at Russian Time

The Russian Time team unveiled its driver duo this Wednesday for the upcoming season in the GP2 Series. As since 2014, the Russian Artem Markelov will be lined up and will try to continue the momentum of a year 2016 which saw him achieve his first success in the discipline in the streets of the Principality of Monaco.

The novelty within the winning team at the Teams championship in 2013 will come from the arrival of the transalpine Luca Ghiotto. Engaged in 2016 with Trident Racing following his GP3 Series runner-up title in 2015 behind Esteban Ocon, the 21-year-old pilot will leave the Italian structure for Russian Time.

“Having passed their cars several times in 2016, I know how good they are, underlines the winner of the Sepang sprint race in Malaysia. I think we have great potential to develop together.

I'm looking forward to working with my new teammate Artem and I can't wait to get back on track in March to start working. »

The official GP2 Series tests will take place in Barcelona from March 13 to 15, then on the Sakhir track in Bahrain from March 29 to 31.
